Why do I need to register?

You can access the majority of our services without having to register.
Some services allow you to personalize your experience somehow.

You will need to register, for instance, to leave comments, join a membership or subscription, enter competitions, and subscribe to newsletters.

By registering, we can also charge a premium for our advertising and make sure that it is more relevant to you. You can find out more about why your data matters to us here.


What is e-mail validation?

When you register with us, we will send you an e-mail asking you to validate the e-mail address you gave us during the registration process.

The e-mail we send you will contain a hyperlink to our website verification page.

Click on the hyperlink or cut and paste it into your browser address bar. It will open a page confirming that the registration process is completed and that your account has been validated.

Why do I need e-mail validation?

The validation process allows us to establish that the e-mail address is genuine and that you did not make a mistake when entering it.

We must have your correct e-mail address in case we need to contact you.

You need to respond to the validation message within seven days.


How can I stay signed in?

If you tick the “Remember Me” box on our sign-in form, we will use a cookie so that when you visit the site on the same computer, you automatically signed-in.

We recommend that you not tick this box on shared computers or computers in public places such as libraries or a cyber internet cafe.


Why can I not change my username?

We strongly believe that one of the best ways of promoting good online behavior is to provide people with an identity that can be consistently recognized by the community.

It also means we must provide you with a profile page that keeps a stable human-readable URL.

You will be able to change your username if you see an option to do so on your profile, and you can only change the username once. So please think carefully before making your change. Also, at this time, it is not possible to modify usernames for profiles.


How do I recover my password?

If you have forgotten your password, you can ask for it to recover it.

Click “Lost your password?” on the sign-in form, enter your e-mail address, and we will send you instructions by e-mail on how to reset the password.


Why do you log IP addresses?

All websites need to know your IP address to send information back to you when you request a web page.

At the time you register with us, we keep a record of that IP address.

We log IP addresses to keep track of any misuse of our sign-in and registration system.

How do you store my data?

We will store your registration data and information about the services you have requested.

For example, the comments you have posted and the e-mail services you have signed up for.

Your dashboard is where you can view and control the data that we retain about you to use on our website.

How do I delete my account?

At this time, it is not possible to delete accounts.
