AExpo wishes to count with the participation of films related to fantastic themes (horror, science fiction, fantasy with gothic and dark aesthetics) on all formats, and lengths, as long as they are daring, creative, and unique films that break down boundaries or feature innovative, eerie, and eccentric or horrifying take on old forms, for example, film noir.

Curation

AExpo is carving out quite the niche for itself in the world of independent, international competitions.

While AExpo primary goal is to showcase the greatest new movies we can discover, we also believe that our mission entails more than just “choosing great cinema.”

We believe that it is our responsibility to present works in exciting and innovative ways so we can reach the widest audiences possible and maximize the impact of each film at our disposal.

AExpo will strive to find the perfect location for each film or program, seeking out idyllic spots on a darkened room, or mounting a screening of a documentary about history on a centenary location. The result is that the films take on new meanings in these unique environments and nuances come to the fore, making a lasting impression.

AExpo will also work harder than most competitions to program films together in such a way that the films complement one another. That is why most of our programs will be organised around themes, moods, regions, and genres.

While some competitions tend to cast unrelated shorts and features into chaotic parcels, Atmostfear Entertainment believes that strategically programming complementary films together can add to the impact of all the works included and that a carefully curated show can bring out subtle resonances in even the most textured and accomplished films.
