‘Dumuzid: Vita, Mors et Renascentia I’ Wall Print
$50.00 – $116.00
‘Dumuzid: Vita, Mors et Renascentia I’ (from Latin to English translates to: ‘Dumuzid: Life, Death and Rebirth I’) is a unique framed piece of artwork representing Dumuzid, also known by Sumerians as Dumuzid the Shepherd, an ancient Mesopotamian god associated with shepherds, who was also the first and primary consort of the goddess Inanna.
In Sumerian mythology, Dumuzid’s sister was Geshtinanna, the goddess of agriculture, fertility, and dream interpretation. He, the vegetation god, agreed to spend half the year in the underworld, during which time all vegetation died off. His return brings regrowth of Mother Nature.
Dumuzid is here illustrated with all his supernatural yet nature-oriented essence, with a darker presence, gothic and victorian alike, giving it a personal and somber aura.
This print frame is elegant and exceptionally lightweight. Instead of glass, the image is protected by acrylite, which is entirely transparent, without the hassle of glass.
Unlike traditional manufacturing, we only print and frame an item when an order is placed, using handcrafted technics. This leads us to reduce product waste and be eco-friendly.
