Sentenced was a Finnish metal band that played melodic death metal in their early years before moving on to the gothic metal. The band formed in 1989 in Muhos, Finland, and broke up in 2005.
‘Down,’ released in November 1996 on Century Media records, is the fourth album by Sentenced. It is also the first album, including the vocalist Ville Laihiala. This album marks the band’s progression from melodic death metal to gothic metal.
The ‘Down’ album gained great reviews in music magazines worldwide and was named Album of the month in German magazines such as Rock Hard and Metal Hammer.
