The Discipline issues are being fast-tracked to reprints

The Discipline was originally announced in July 2013, as part of a renewed lineup from DC Comics’ famed mature readers imprint, Vertigo Comics. Proclaimed a “dark, erotic thriller,” it was catalogued for release in December of that year, but that did not happen.

Since then, Peter Milligan (X-Force and X-Statix) and artist Leandro Fernández (Punisher, Queen & Country) collaborated on another Vertigo Comics series in 2014; The Names. Meanwhile, Peter Milligan himself declared The Discipline to be on the “back burner.” That changed in a great way in December, with the news that The Discipline had a new home, Image Comics, who has dubbed the series a “controversial and erotically charged tale of sex, death and metamorphosis” and, at last, a release date for the first issue.

Losing one’s discipline is typically appended by ill will and negativity. When Image Comics drops issues of The Discipline just because they are selling out, they have got to get second printings out of the stat or they will get the same ill will. Advantageous for readers, they are doing just that.

Image Comics is pleased to announce that issues #1 and #2 of The Discipline by writer Peter Milligan and artist Leandro Fernández are being fast-tracked to second printings to keep up with customer demand.

Between struggling with her sister and eschewing her husband, Melissa still finds time to fall in lust with a stranger who is an awful lot more than he seems. In The Discipline #1, what appears to be a mere temptation is revealed as something much dimmer and more dangerous.

This controversial and erotically charged tale of sex, death, and metamorphosis begins with an outburst of carnality and weirdness. By The Discipline #2, Melissa is drawn deeper into a strange hidden world and realises that her affair with Orlando is not just about sex. She discovers more about The Discipline, their weird enemy known as the Stalkers, and her own frightening potential.

The Discipline #1 and #2 remain available for purchase across all digital platforms, including the Image Comics website, and through the official Image Comics iOS app, Comixology’s website, iOS, Android, and Google Play.
