Finnish melodic, progressive death metallers Omnium Gatherum have come forth with saddened news regarding their Japanese entanglement with the event promoter:

[blockquote cite=”Omnium Gatherum”]With heavy hearts we are sad to announce that due to unfortunate circumstances and betrayal Omnium Gatherum is forced to cancel the upcoming shows in Japan this week. We have to be honest about this and tell you that the tour organizer Korean guy Do-Su Kim (also known as Jusin & 김도수) and Metal Asia Agency was deceiving everyone else in this event and caused this cancellation.

With the heavy breach of contract Do-Su Kim didn’t pay us any of our advance fee that was agreed and supposed to be done even one month ago. But we were still coming to Japan as we really wanted to do these shows and see our fans, but the next thing was that Do-Su Kim “paid for our flights” and last week we noticed that there’s something wrong with the flight reservation too – our flight booking reference number claimed that the flight status is “cancelled” as they hadn’t been paid for. So after many days of email fighting and Do-Su Kim sending us another set of fake flights we’re now in a situation that we have to cancel these shows, as this guy won’t pay our fee nor book us the flights to Japan. He also got the support bands to pay a lot for the promoter for OG support slot, and this was something that we hand´t heard at all.

So, we are really hoping for the best that the fans will get the advance ticket money back and the support bands will get their pay-to-play fees back from Metal Asia Agency asap. Now we have heard that Do-Su Kim and Metal Asia Agency have done the same kind of betrayals also before; Unisonic was the latest one, just a week or two before.

This is really unfortunate and frustrating, as we were so much looking forward to coming back to your beautiful country and seeing our awesome Japanese fans. There’s nothing more we can do at this point, and we want to send our deepest apologies for the bands and our fans. It’s sad to see there are still imposter promoters like Do-Su Kim in the world.

Nevertheless, Omnium Gatherum will return to Japan and play you some metal in the future, that is for sure[/blockquote]

Back in August, the Unisonic act aforementioned in the Omnium Gatherum statement, which features former members of Helloween (Michael Kiske and Kai Hansen) also announced the cancellation of their Japanese Tour, which was scheduled to commence on September 7th in Seoul, South Korea at Jayla Art Hall. Nevertheless, Unisonic did not offer any sort of justification regarding the cancellation of this event until today:

[blockquote cite=”Unisonic”]Unfortunately, we received several mails from Korean fans telling us they have problems returning the Unisonic concert tickets for the cancelled show. Also we were told, the promoter is blaming the band for the cancellation.

Please note that we deeply apologize the cancellation, band and management tried everything possible to play the show in Seoul! Due to heavy breach of contract and basically zero communication from promoter’s side, we finally had to cancel.

In fact we booked our flight tickets from Japan to Seoul a long time ago, but due to a missing proper invitation we did not even have any visa to enter Korea and had to stay in transit area. Besides us losing some serious money for airfares and crew, we are very sad to hear you, the fans, have problems to get your money back!

We hope we can make up for this in the near future with a great show in Seoul![/blockquote]

Omnium Gatherum has recently put out a new live video from the song entitled ‘Living In Me’ to promote their truly amazing 2013’s release, ‘Beyond’. The video was filmed during their United States tour with Swedish melodic metallers Dark Tranquillity, in both San Francisco and Las Vegas.

    Hello!
May I point out the differs from the fact in the article?

    Quotation:
“Back in August, the Unisonic act aforementioned in the Omnium Gatherum statement, which features former members of Helloween (Michael Kiske and Kai Hansen) also announced the cancellation of their Japanese Tour, which was scheduled to commence on September 7th in Seoul, South Korea at Jayla Art Hall. ”

It’s not true. Only Seoul (in South Korea) show was cancelled.
All of Japanese tour dates were completed without any trouble. The band had contracted the different promoter in Japan.
Please take care of correcting that article. Thank you!

The article was based on numerous sources that pointed out that Unisonic – including the band itself – had cancelled the Japanese shows due to Visa issues as well as the Korean promoter’s responsibility to provide them with a proper invitation to play in the country (Korea).

By the time the article was published, this was the current information that we held in our office. Obviously, if you point out a acknowledgment to the Japanese dates that have been finished, I will correct the article accordingly.
