Bogotรก, Colombia, September 15th, 2018 โ Atmostfear Entertainment is pleased to announce the call to entries for artisans, a celebration of fine arts and crafts intended to bridge local and international crafted arts worldwide. Hence, initiating its call to entries as anticipation for its marketplace online โ due for opening on October 15th โ as worldwide merchants for artful, talented and heartfelt artistic designs as part of a three-year transformation programme announced last year.
Atmostfear Entertainment welcomes project-based entries with supporting imagery in the realm of horror, gothic art, from sculpture, painting, illustration, embroidery, textiles, jewellery, to fashion confection and anything else involving a strong, elegant visual concept and refined finishings.
Our audience and the prospective clientele are oriented towards alternative subcultures related to horror, steampunk, creepers, rockabilly, fetish, spiral, burlesque and gothic lifestyles with an educational, historical, and academic interest.
Moreover, our editorial line of publishings are often used in classrooms from grade school through the university level, and forthcoming artisan items may be subjective to the same approach for educational purposes, and while we recognise the importance of all artistic subject matter, if your crafts comprise explicit sex, sleazy nudity, trivial torture or particularly sensitive topics that may be somehow considered ordinary, it may not be appropriate for our audience nor clientele.
The marketplace will provide a worldwide clientele with the opportunity to purchase beautiful, carefully curated items directly through Atmostfear Entertainment by offering multiple forms of payment gateways, and dedicated sales support, thereof, drawing a variety of talented crafters to display and sell their work, so that readers of this media may find unique handcrafted items worth purchasing, which will significantly support to stimulate the creative economy and provide self-sustainability for all artisans involved.
Artisans who are accepted to sell their work are free to set their own prices, keeping in mind that there will be a commission taken by Amostfear Entertainment for packing and handling, as well as to cover shipment costs and promotion.
The aim is to provide a variety of unique crafts at a variety of price points so that everyone who visits the marketplace will find something special.
Guidelines for Submitters
Submissions
As always, we invite both professional and amateur artisans with unique craft offerings to submit their work.
It is preferred that you reach us through the contact form, filling all information required as well as to upload a grouping of photographs ready for the curators to view, rather than e-mailing photographs individually.
You will receive a response if your submission is successfully received, so there is no need to submit again. Please, do not submit weekly on a repetitive schedule.
Every submission will be carefully studied, though due to the volume we are expecting, we will be unable to respond personally.
Curation
During the selection process, curators will assess the work of the artisans concerning the following criteria:
- Creativity, the uniqueness of craft,
- The quality of materials and items finishing,
- Item value, retail pricing and affordability,
- Item overall presentation, handling and packing,
- Appeal to clientele
Curators will seek to find a balance of types of fine craft, such as wood pieces, jewellery, fibre art, glass, weaving, leather accessories, resin statues, pewter pendants, rings with stones, etcetera. A balance of work displayed in physical exhibits will also be sought.
Please, plan on submitting work samples in the condition in which they will be available for sale, with real examples of intended tags and packaging.
Requirements
- Three to four photographs per each item, from different perspectives like shown above.
- Local artisans will be invited to bring specific types of physical items based on the photographs submitted.
- Local artisans are not permitted to bring items that are not approved by the curators during the selection process.
Examples
- If a potter artisan wished to be considered for mugs, vases, bowls, etcetera, the artisan should submit at least one example of each kind of item.
- If a wood artisan also happens to make beaded jewellery, the artisan should submit an example of each type of work.
